Dear colleagues,
CAPES-USP has opened a call for advanced independent post-doc positions at USP
(Univ. Sao Paulo). After 1 year USP should open a permanent position in an area related
to the candidate, who can apply to this permanent position.
Attached is the call. In short:
- PostDoc position is for 30 months
- Salary is R$8905 (should be tax free)
- R$10 000 per year as research budget
- Payment of airfare and relocation fee
- Required: CV, evidence of PhD, motivation letter, 3 recommendation letters, project
Candidates in any area of Astronomy can apply, albeit I would like to see applicants
from paleoclimate, who could take advantage of interacting with the 3 departments of
my Institute (IAG: Astronomy, Geophysics, Atmospheric Sciences), or from a broad
area (e.g., stellar evolution models).
Please forward this to potential applicants with competitive CVs. I would expect
the candidate to have at least six published/accepted first-author refereed papers.
The deadline to send me the documents is November 24th, 2016 (2 weeks from now).
I can propose the best candidate(s) to my Institute (IAG). Later, IAG will make
an internal selection, with a likely outcome around December 8, 2016. Then, IAG
will submit the selected candidate for approval by USP.
Best regards,
Jorge.
