Abstract

Geosynchronous orbit is often strongly disturbed electromagnetically by the major space weather phenomena including substorms, storms and radiation belt electrons. Accordingly there are a variety of science issues that a majority of space physics community has long worked on.
While some of them are well understood, many issues remain to be clarified, requiring continuous high-quality observations. In this talk I will introduce some of these science topics as well as technical issues related to particle detectors onboard currently operating satellites. This talk is intended to promote collaboration with the Kyung Hee University team currently developing Particle Detector (PD) on the GK-2A geostationary satellite.
