Title : Polarisation in the astronomical objects

Abstract :
Polarisation is one of the basic properties of light and contains information on numerous processes acting in the universe. Polarisation measurements have provided unique information on the solar, on stellar and on planetary atmospheres, but also on small bodies in the solar system. It has also given new insights into the interstellar medium and the magnetic field in our Milky Way galaxy and in other galaxies, on the nature of AGNs, and on the intergalactic medium in galaxy clusters. From This vast and rich variety of sources of polarisation, a selection will be presented and discussed here.
